Microsoft Plans Not To Sell To Small Game Stores

Microsoft Update for small game stores:|

Hi all, in another episode of ‘running an independent game store is getting tougher every day’,

I have been told that Microsoft, and all its subsidiary companies (Activision, Blizzard, Bethesda, etc) are as of now NOT planning on selling any physical titles through distribution.

What is distribution? For smaller stores like us, we don’t deal directly with Microsoft. A video game distributor would go to Microsoft and order, say, 10,000 copies of a game. Then 100 small stores like us would purchase 100 copies of the game from the distributor.

At our level, it is impossible for us to deal directly with the parent companies.Unless something changes, it seems we will be unable to get any new releases by Microsoft — they will ONLY be selling to the Big Box stores (Gamestop, Best Buy, etc). This includes the Halo PS5 release that is coming out later this month.

If anything changes, we will update as soon as possible. In the meantime, all games we are currently accepting for pre-order is always available on our website. Thanks to our awesome customers!
